From the Belief of Others

I found a wish the other day.

I knew immediately it was not my own but belonged to another.

It was more of a dream to be truthful, for it had a deep rich substance to it that is many times lacking in a wish.

Like a small bird weakened by flight, it lay spent in the rubbish of everyday worry.  As I moved closer, I spied its spirit flutter briefly as it struggled in the shadow of my approach.

I could, with very little effort, imagine this dream climbing high on the notes of success, for I knew, without a doubt, that only the belief of another was required to give it strength.

I placed my hands gently around this dream that was not my own, and tenderly whispered the warmth of encouragement into its being.  It didn’t take much, it rarely does.

The opportunity to encourage another, to lift them, even for a moment towards what they seek, is a gift…an honour really…missed by many.

It takes but a moment…

“Our chief want is someone who will inspire us to be what we know we could be.”
